Renovations begin April 7, 2026

A New Chapter for our Golf Course

The Boca Raton is preparing to move forward with enhancements to our golf facilities, thoughtfully designed to elevate course conditions and the overall playing experience. The golf course will close for a comprehensive renovation beginning April 7 and is projected to reopen late fall.

We have engaged renowned golf architect Brian Silva to lead a master plan reimagination of the course. Celebrated for restoring and enhancing “Golden Age” courses, Silva has earned multiple Golf Digest Renovation of the Year honors. In addition, the driving range will close for renovation beginning fall 2026.

Frequently Asked Questions

The golf course will close on April 7, 2026, for a full renovation and is projected to reopen late fall 2026.

The driving range will remain open throughout most of the golf course renovation. Beginning in September, it will temporarily close for its own enhancements and is projected to reopen in late fall.

Members and guests may continue to enjoy the following amenities at the driving range:

  • Driving range access
  • TaylorMade private club fittings
  • Daily golf clinics (with schedules announced seasonally)
  • Group golf clinics and TrackMan Range experiences
  • Private golf lessons

These amenities will remain available until the driving range temporarily closes in September for its own renovation and is projected to reopen in late fall.

The Boca Raton has engaged renowned golf architect Brian Silva to lead a comprehensive master plan reimagination of the golf course, designed to dramatically elevate the overall playing experience. A student of legendary designer Geoffrey Cornish, whose work closely reflects the principles of famed architect Donald Ross, Silva is widely respected for his expertise in restoring and enhancing “Golden Age” golf courses from the early 20th century.

His approach will focus on returning The Boca Raton Golf Club to its original 1926 Donald Ross design roots, honoring the course’s historic character while thoughtfully enhancing playability. Silva’s work has earned multiple “Renovation of the Year” accolades from Golf Digest.  Locally, he is known for his work at Palm Beach Country Club.

While the golf course will lose a shot off par and become a par 70 (par 71 currently), the new layout will be longer than the current layout.

In addition to creating a more strategically challenging layout, the project will include the installation of a new irrigation system and the latest, most advanced turf grasses throughout the course. Once fully matured, these enhancements are expected to elevate The Boca Raton Golf Club to one of the best conditioned golf courses in the area. The greens will feature TifTuf 3D turf, a newer variety of Bermuda grass known for its minimal grain, allowing for faster, smoother, and more consistent green speeds.

While The Boca Raton does not currently have formal reciprocal partnerships in place for Club members (members without Golf Add-on) and resort guests, we are pleased to share a curated list of recommended area clubs for your consideration below:

Osprey Point Golf Club

Located in West Boca Raton, Osprey is a daily fee golf course with a challenging layout and good, consistent playing conditions.  The course is tucked against a protected wetland and tends to be one of, if not the most popular daily fee courses in Boca Raton.  Tee times typically go fast, so we recommend booking as far in advance as able.  The course is about 30-35 minutes west of The Boca Raton.

The Park Golf Club

The Park is a premium daily fee golf course located in West Palm Beach.  This golf course would offer high-end playing conditions and a championship layout.  The rate is typically $250+ per person per round and requires caddies for morning tee times (cost not inclusive of caddy fee).  The Park hosted the made-for-tv match that featured Rory McIlroy, Rose Zhang, Max Homa, and Lexi Thompson.

Will transportation to alternative courses be provided by The Boca Raton?

Transportation to/from reciprocal golf course play will be the responsibility of the member and guest.

This is a full-scale renovation where each hole is excavated, reshaped, and redesigned, including the installation of a new irrigation system.

The golf course will be an active construction zone throughout the renovation process, which will result in construction activity and related noise during this time. We appreciate your understanding as we invest in the future of the course.

Rates for the 2026 season are still being determined and will be updated to align with the reopening of the golf course. Current pricing will no longer be applicable after April 6, 2026.

Yes, some renovation activity will be visible during the main construction period, anticipated from April through August. To help minimize the visual impact, a minimum 7-foot hedge line will be installed along the roadway to screen ground-level views of the work. While portions of the renovation may still be visible from select vantage points, including The Flamingo Grill, every effort will be made to thoughtfully manage sightlines throughout the process.

Director of Golf, Andy Farrea, and Golf Course Superintendent, Eric Harchuska, will provide monthly write-ups with information on the progress of the renovation.  Receptions featuring golf course ride-arounds to view the renovation progress are also being planned (details will be released in the early Summer).

Roughly 2/3 of the golf course layout will remain largely intact, but will feature numerous enhancements from a playability standpoint.  The other 1/3 of the golf course layout will have some substantial changes to routing, resulting in better playability and navigation around the evolved surrounding of golf course property.

The Pro Shop will remain open during the golf course renovation. We do anticipate temporary closures to allow for enhancements to the space; however, any planned closures will be communicated in advance.

Mulligans will close for the duration of the golf course renovation.

Member bag storage will remain open and available for those with registered storage spots. Bag Room hours of operation will be updated closer to the renovation start date.

While golf bag storage will not be available during the closure, resort guests are welcome to store their golf bags with the hotel bell desk.

It has been around for quite some time, and we have visited multiple courses that have installed Tif 3D, all of which reported very positive feedback compared to TifEagle. We evaluated two greens side by side that were installed one year apart. The TifEagle green already showed mutations and significant grain, while the Tif 3D green remained uniform. Tif 3D has a more upright growth habit and tolerates lower mowing heights, resulting in faster green speeds. While mutations are ultimately inevitable with Bermudagrass, over the past decade there have been no reported mutations on Tif 3D greens.

We are ensuring that all green locations will be free from damaging shade. Wherever a tree is in close proximity to a green, a root barrier will be installed to prevent the issues we currently experience on holes 3 and 13. Additionally, the new irrigation system and updated design will allow for more precise management of moisture levels on each green. Setting the course up for long-term success has been a top priority throughout the design phase.

As irrigation systems have evolved, sprinkler head throw distances have decreased, allowing for more precise moisture control. This precision is critical to maintaining firm playing conditions, as wet fairways negatively impact play.  Our current irrigation design is outdated, relying on a single row of heads along each side of the fairway. Because many fairways are bordered by elevated rough mounds, adequately watering those areas results in overwatering the fairways. If fairways are prioritized instead, the rough and mounds become underwatered and burn out.

Improved coverage and precise control would allow us to independently manage moisture levels, resulting in firmer conditions, healthier turf, and improved playability.

For Golf-Add On Members

Yes, our Golf Add-On members will enjoy access to a variety of reciprocal golf courses, which will be most abundant during the months of May through October.  Outside of this peak period, a more streamlined selection will be offered, still providing multiple opportunities for play. Reciprocal tee times will be subject to availability at the host club and rates (due upon check-in) will vary from club to club.

The Club is making a significant investment of more than $25 million to enhance the golf experience, ensuring long-term value for our members. The Club year runs from October through September, and members will continue to enjoy full use of the course from October through April. The period during which the course will be unavailable primarily impacts the summer months, from April through September. Add-on fees have been structured to reflect both the timing of course availability and the substantial investment being made to deliver an exceptional experience upon reopening.

We are committed to ensuring your golf experience remains exceptional during the renovation. We will offer a robust schedule of programming from complimentary instructional clinics to Trackman simulator play, and off-site golf outings. In addition, we’ve planned an international golf trip to Spain with additional trips under consideration. Our golf pros also remain available and can accompany members to reciprocal courses. Regular Golf Course renovation information sessions will be hosted by Director of Golf Andrew Farrea and Superintendent Eric Harchuska to share the latest updates and offer ride-arounds to view the progress.

Members can also continue to enjoy the following amenities at the driving range:

  • Driving range access
  • TaylorMade private club fittings
  • Daily golf clinics (with schedules announced seasonally)
  • Group golf clinics and TrackMan Range experiences
  • Private golf lessons

These amenities will remain available until the driving range temporarily closes in September for its own renovation and is projected to reopen in late fall.

We are still finalizing our full lineup of reciprocal courses, but at this time can share that the following golf courses are confirmed for the duration of our golf course renovation:

  • The Seagate Golf Club
  • Parkland Golf and Country Club
  • Boca Pointe Country Club
  • Boca Lago Country Club

In 2025, our reciprocal partners included the following golf courses:
